Description
I was born with a form of dwarfism that causes multiple orthopedic complications. At the age of 14, I became fully dependent on crutches as a result of neurological damage and unhealthy muscles from having so many surgeries. This painting was inspired by the words of someone dear to my heart. He calls me his hero because of the strength he sees in my life, but what he doesn’t see is the Source of that strength. In this painting I’ve portrayed myself as a little girl who has fallen while walking with her crutches. She looks up to the One behind her as if to say, “…but it hurts.” His strong, but gentle look reveals His response, “It will be okay; I am with you.” He is my strength. He is my hero. His name is Jesus.

I love this picture and inspired daily from it and knowing Michelle’s story and her personally. I ask Jesus to help hold me as I descend my stairs the first few years after my stroke( seizures hit me often I needed the Lord to keep me seizure free while climbing stair) This Print has kept me focused and reassured many a time that Jesus will help hold me. thank you for your vision
